vtec solenoid failure
ok.... im getting that wonderfull code that says i have a vtec solenoid failure. this is the third time it's happened. before i pulled the batterie to reset the ecu. i also went back to people that instaled my vafc to check the wiring, it's okay. during normal and even aggressive driving every thing is okay. the only time i get this cel light is on the interstate. every time it has come up, im on the interstate doing 60-70mph and drop it into 3rd. this is the only time it will do it and it's always with downshifting. so is it time to take it to the dealer or is there something else i need to check. thanks

VTEC solenoids have not been known to go bad. Have you checked your oil level lately?
If you have a VAFC wired in and setting P1259's, the 1st thing a dealer is going to do is remove the VAFC. If they even work on the car.
Either your wiring for the VAFC settings are the cause, or the wiring job isn't as good as the shop says it is.
