Default Walmart Filter

I use the Supertech filter. I've been using it for years and haven't had any problems with any of my cars.

I'm not cheap, i use the Mobil 1 oil, and the supertch is suppose to filter better than "the leading competetor", so i use it.

I just read a thread regarding the K&N filters getting loose. Anything wrong with the walmart filter supertech?

One more vote for the Honda PCX filter.

You want excellent flow, sealing, bypass and anti-drainback valve operation.

So the K&N filter is second to the OEM?

No, any filter that is supposed to be applicable to the S2000 will have an anti-drainback, a bypass valve, and so forth. the point is, DO THEY? And do they have the right PSI spec for the bypass? Who knows - I don't, you don't, maybe Wal-Mart doesn't. Champion probably does. But since the bypass spec and the filter media all affect little things like oil pressure and the like, having so many "who knows" adds up to uncertainty, and I do not like uncertainty in an engine of this complexity and cost. Are ya feelin' lucky, my friend?

Typically, big retailers will try to get as much cross-coverage on their filters as they can in order to maximize shelf space and sales. So they may try to make a Universal filter for all Hondas, and shave a PSI or two here, add a few there. An oil filter is a lumped sum engineering exercise - Honda makes a car-specific filter for the S2000. Why mess with it? I won't.

P.S.
Here is some good oil filter engineering 101 you might find helpful.

I don't think there is any luck involved. Are you feeling lucky by going against everything that is holy according to Honda by switching out your factory fill at 1000 miles with your homemade concoction? I don't think you are. Nor do I think using a proven filter such as the SuperTech warrants luck's assistance. I own and maintain a Honda Pilot. Honeywell, the parent company of Fram, manufactures Honda
