Default Warm Weather Hesitation/Bogging

Hey,

I've got a 2005 s2000. She lives in NC, and this week it has been over 95 degrees outside and mighty humid. If i sit in traffic for awhile and go to take off the car bogs down really really bad. I noticed this after sitting in traffic for about 10 minutes. I end up being one of the slowest cars at the light. Seemingly once i get moving for a bit all is well again.

Is this normal? I know cars get slower with heat, but this is DRASTIC. I drive a civic cx to work daily, and it has 70hp standard. It gets slower then that. What is the standard number of engine temp bars on an AP2 as well?

The car is still under warranty for quite a while and before I take it in to have them tell me it runs great, what should I look for/try.

Maybe this is normal, although i sure hope not.

Regards,

Quinn

Happens to me all the time. It's either two things ,Heat soak or Map sensor -Aka Map whack.

IMO Yes its normal. Mine did it really bad the other day sitting in traffic, the car did want to move and i had it floored

After a good quarter mile of no traffic it runs well again.

It is very annoying though. I had a 1980's olds next to me, and i knew my lane was going to end. I had the car floored and could not pass .

yes this is normal, heat soak.

if i'm cruising in traffic, with the a/c on, and i try to get on it, the car does bog very much, and feels like butt all the way to redline. but after a couple seconds of driving again, it goes away.

Its been very, very humid lately where I live and I have noticed a slight hesitation/bog leaving in first. The cure is just to press on the gas harder, for me anyways.

I live in kentucky and it's been very hot hear as well 111 heat index yesterday my 06 is doing the same thing except mine is doing it mainly shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd not during initial first gear acceleration. I thought it was just the cdv you think the heat is the cluprit. It's just become noticable within the past 2 weeks of extreme heat. Normally I shift at 3.5-4k and have no problem the car picks right up and goes ive learned how to shift with the cdv systme not affecting engagement during shifting( ie slipping) but hear latley in the heat it almost feels like the clutch is slipping? Any suggestions only 3800k on the clock.
