Hi Guyz, this probly sounds like a stupid question but wenever i start my car up theres sum kind of fan or pump which starts then switches off after a minute or so. just wondring is this normal? coz my eps light is on too and ive got no power steering but thats differnt i suppose.

 

Is it a semi loud whining sound? If so, its the air pump.

it's for combating the a/f ratio in cold start up, in short it's for emission

 

Correct.

 

There are kits to remove the air pump out there as well

 

don't listen to them.

it's a small supercharger.
