Default Weird noises! help!

So recently....my car has been making a noticeable ticking sound upon acceleration at the beginning of each gear at the lower rpms.. figured maybe it was that "timing chain"(or something like that) issue that i read so much about on this site. I figured no big deal, then like a month ago the S started to make somewat of a grinding sound on start up and would go away immediately at ideal. Now i knew i was heading into a problem....then just 2 days ago a new squealing sound started, almost sounded like break pads but it does it at ideal as well so that cant be it....as the car gets warmer and i drive it more the "whining/squealing/crickets chirping" sound gets more constant and prevalent. And the 2 previous sounds i mentioned before still occur as well.

My s2k has 103k miles on it....however the engine was replaced at 77k with a brand new engine...so why am i getting weird noises??

anyone got any ideas??

Sounds like you have a bearing going bad. But you haven't stated that you've had any drivability problems. So I would guess it's probably on one of the accessories driven off the serpentine belt. Get it looked at soon. Cheaper to fix it now.

no the car drives just great....its just the sounds that scare me from driving it the way i normally do. Does anyone else think its the serpentine belts as well? is that expensive to replace?

I didn't mean the belt, but the bearings on one of the shafts turned by the belt. This includes idler pulley, alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, etc.

I dun't think you can return the tensioner after it's been installed
