Default Weird rear leak

Today I backed out of my garage and noticed some oil on the ground. It was towards the back of my car, so I freaked out and looked at the diff. Diff was completely dry and didn't have any oil streaks on it; So then I assumed it was my shock that was blown. Checked, and it was dry as well. I even ripped apart my trunk to see if there was any fluid pooling on top of the tower and there was nothing there.

Upon further inspection I noticed it might be coming from a round rubber boot looking thing or something above it (not the axle boot though)

Does anyone know what the hell that thing is? What's it for? Why is fluid leaking out of it? What kind of fluid is leaking out of it? Am I in any immediate danger?

Am I in any immediate danger? How long do you think I can drive on it like this? Would it be a good idea to replace the other side as well? And most importantly, how much is this gonna cost me

I would've checked there if I knew what it actually was.

I'd say you're in no immediate danger of hurting anything. The fluid is there to absorb shock and vibration. I think I saw in the other thread the mount is like 60 bucks.

I'll be replacing both mounts just to be safe, and since i'll be under there anyway.

Is it ok to just do each side one at time and let it just hang on the other side? Will one mount be enough to hold the diff or will I need to use a jack to hold the diff up?
