But if thats the case, dont you think I would do the same thing in every other gear? I've tried different things to make it stop doing that, like ya'll are saying with revving it a little higher, but it still happens.
um if your talking about starting from a stop you should only be launching in first gear, what do you mean in all the other gears? were talking about revving it higher in first gear when your taking off. Rev it to about 2k before you let go of the clutch. if it still does it while the car is moving then its a whole different problem.

Thanks. I know how to drive. The problem is that the car needs a whole new clutch and flywheel. I'm just pissed because thats what the tech said in the first place but the guys at the front desk decided that he was wrong and I just cant drive for shit. Now that a MALE takes the same car in with the same problem, they tell him its the clutch.

Still seems to me that your not revving the car high enough to get it going, you gotta launch the s2k at higher rpms than most other cars. I usually take off at aobut 2,000 rpm and hold it there, you gotta slip the clutch a little bit to get it moving smoothly, if you dont give it enough gas that car will shake and vibrate very much like your describing it. Try giving it some more gas from now on and if the problems still persists then you could further investigate, but im almost convinced thats what the problem is, it took me a while to get used the s2k.
i don't have to slip the clutch to get going...?? your method of taking off in 1st gear is similar to the method i show people who have never driven a manual before, but not the way i would do it now after about 10 years.

i clutch out relatively quickly and correspondingly give it the right amount of gas (depending on how fast i want to go from 0 to....40 mph in the city), but i'm not pushing the throttle, revving up to 2500 RPM, and then slowly letting out the clutch. wouldn't that mean more wear and tear? i'm off the clutch completely in about half a second.

Not trying to ride the boat of "driver error," but did you notice if the A/C is on when it does the weird shake? There is parasitic loss when running the AC system, and the car will need some more motivation to go or else it'll bog if you release the same way as with ac off.

Good luck and hopefully it's resolved.

If qbmurderer13's suggestion to try releasing the clutch at 2k+rpm on flat ground still results in this weird shake; hopefully it's not too expensive to fix.

If that solves it; friction zone practice is the only freebie repair needed.

No, its not the AC. The weather has been too perfect lately to even have to use it.

We need a whole new clutch and flywheel. Luckily its certified and everything should be covered considering we havent even had the car for 2 months.

I just loved how Honda blamed it on my driving ability when the tech who drove it told them it needed the clutch replaced.

IMO.... honestly. I don't think it has anything to do with the clutch. I've never heard of a problem like that being the clutch. If it was it would do it in every gear. And what's wrong with the flywheel, to be honest I think they're just doing it to get you outta there. I've never heard of someone having to replace a flywheel that soon. I'm still on stock clutch and flywheel at 80000 miles. Don't take it offensively but I would let someone in your local area with an s2k drive it and see what they come up with. But hey your getting a brand new clutch for free so why not...

clutch would DEFINITELY show problems in other gears, and flywheel makes no sense at all.

to use your description, "multiple clanks" sounds like someone getting used to the awful stock clutch (i know, flame suit on).

It is your driveshaft vibrating when the rpms drop too low, don't worry about it. All you have to do is slip the clutch a bit more to keep the rpms up.

Hey "RidingTopless",
Im in Australia and I'v had my s2000 for about a year and iv noticed it sometimes too. i can definitely confirm it isnt the clutch or the flywheel!!

I bet that wen u get that shaking in your car, your letting the clutch out too slowly. iv recently had a problem with the inner cv joint on the right driveshaft and got it re-greased.

Ever since then iv been trying not to drop the clutch as much. wen u take off (im not saying ur a bad driver), try letting the clutch go quicker. rev it 1 - 1500rpm but dont ride it... thats why ur fiancee is not having that trouble.

guys i guess drive it abit more like its stolen, lol.

ps. s2000's are alot harder to drive, never got this prob in my bmw, my ford focus or my toyota camery tho.
