Weird Tranny Action - Thoughts?
I was making a turn from a Stop sign. moving about 3 mph. As I was turning, I saw a car coming, moving at about 35-40 mph. I punched it, going to first with high rev, then to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th to get up to speed. Did not make it to VTEC.
What I found unusual was the fact the tranny did not appear to change gears, staying in 2nd, until I got to 5th, when it finally kicked in.
The only recent work on this stock 05 Berlina, with 35,000 miles, is tranny/diff/oil changes, as well as air and cabin filters. Tranny oil was changed a second time in 4 weeks, as I was diagnosing a slight leak, found to be a slave cylinder leak.
No mods to the engine have been made. This Berlina is completely 100% stock - not even an audio upgrade! (That'll happen before I go to Summer Dragon). I don't drive the car in a "spirited" manner. Only have hit VTEC 3 times.
What do you all think? I had the dealership *ugh*, as well as an import garage try to diagnose the slave cylinder, so I'm not to hip on local garages, at the moment.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you saying that as you shifted the gears through the sequence you list, depressing the clutch each time, that you feel the transmission never got out of second until it shifted on its own going from second to fifth?

Not being a jerk, but what you describe is like saying, I was walking across the street, and saw a car was coming, so i started running, faster and faster I ran, but even though my legs were running, my feet were still walking. Then when I stopped running, my feet finally went faster, even though now my legs were moving at walking speed. You could see how that could not make sense...

Is it possible you went from 2nd to 5th, by accident?

maybe your S2000 has been converted to auto....
but seriously, did your revs change? - Saying it felt like every gear was 2nd gear means that when you shift up and release the clutch, the RPMs don't change much at all.
Could it have been your clutch slipping at the time? - I would assume that would make it feel like every gear has no torque when the clutch slips, making it seem like every gear is second or lower or nothing.

Slipping clutch finally completely caught in 5th gear is all I can think of. 2d to 5th makes sense with a slipping clutch.

What else can it be? With the clutch slipping (from a heavy foot, to worn clutch, to misadjustment) it would explain the higher revs and when it finally "caught" it slowed down to match the gear, in this case 5th. As the revs slowed and the clutch stopped slipping it would give the "feeling-to the OP, that the gears shifted to 5th.
