What is best way to increase torque?
The best way to increase torque is to get a nice NSX for a day and imagine it is the S2000.
Period.
So Derryck (spell check?) Please nicely close your BIG mouth and SHUT THE **** UP
Sorry.. Just releasing some emotion distress from my ever so angered body.

Folks the original poster is asking a real question. If you want to throw wise ass comments in due it in a different forum. This is UTH, not the Corner. If you can't help stay out of it.
ALRIGHTGUYS!! That's enough. If this continues I will have to lock the thread.
People come here (UTH) to learn and gain knowledge about our cars not to listen to a couple of people argue about different things. Please help answer the question asked.
Thank-you all for your cooperation

hey,
pinky: sorry i haven't responded to these posts, but i sure have been reading them, check them almost every day, honestly don't have too much to say , after all these guys know alot more about the s2k and mechanics, then i do
so without causing another debate, what is your final answer, best way to increase torque -
i had always thought it was a turbo but, then i might just be thinking more along the lines of power down in the lower revs, and not so much torque,
thanks all for your responses,
appreciate your time

Okay. Back at the ranch:
Anything that gives you HP MUST give you Torque also. However, when people talk about torque, they usually refer to very low rpm pulling power, which although is technically incorrect it is what it is generally understood as. I'll assume you mean that.
The S2000 responds very well to leaning out and advancing ignition timing. That's one great way for increasing low rpm torque.
Positive displacement supercharger is another way of increasing low rpm torque. Centrifugal SCs, Turbos and Nitrous are inappropriate for low end torque, but provide fantastic torque at high rpm.
A lower ratio gear set will "feel" like you've increased torque due to the way the power is translated to the ground. The same will happen with smaller wheels.
A stroker kit provides very little bang for buck, but it gives a consistent increase in torque throughout the entire rpm band.
Aside from that, things like headers/cai/exhaust etc, all seem to focus on generating high end torque, not low end. So... They seem to be your only options.
Anyone else like to add some more?
