hey guys,

i'm fixing up my08 and i've been comparing it to my friends '06. He has this black rectangular thing just south of the passenger side suspension bolts area under the hood. I look at the small print and i see >ABS<. What is this ? i know the ABS/VSA modulator is on the driver side just under the brake fluid.

My car is missing this and i'm trying to find out what the part is. My VSA light is on and i'm wondering if this is the issue.

any help is appreciated! =) and also, the heat shield between the engine and a/c lines, is that stock?

That looks like a car horn to me.

 

i'm pretty sure that's not the car horn. at least it didnt look like it. its a rectangular box and on it, theres a bunch of numbers and says >ABS<

well my car doesn't have it and my horn still works... maybe mine was relocated? duno

 

What you've circled in the photo is one of the horns. There are 2 stock on the AP2.

Yup.

Possibly. Maybe only one horn was removed. Maybe you have aftermarket horn(s).

 

Definitely looks like an horn. My '02 has a different horn, but is mounted in the same spot.

At the risk of stating the highly obvious:

It would be very easy to tell if it is or isn't the horn - just stay under the hood and tell your friend to honk the horn. If you can't localize the noise enough to be sure of the source, just disconnect it and try honking it again.

i didn't think it was a horn cuz it was a flat rectangular shape and said ABS on it. so it lead me to though i'm missing some ABS module or something...

but if that spot is where the horn unit is located then there's no doubt. silly me =S
