I'm using the out of the box gap setting (.44 I think).

The out of the box gaps aren't correct. I recently got a set of denso's and almost all of them were .044" except for 1 of them. I'm guessing it was during shipping it was smacking against something and the gap got out of whack. Always check your spark gaps with a feeler gauge to be sure.

hotter climates get smaller gaps like .030"

I did not change my spark plugs when I installed my comptech supercharger, do I need to change them?

No, but you should have pulled them out, inspected them and gapped them down. Too big a gap (like the OEM gap) may cause a high rpm miss for FI.

CAUTION! Use the proper spark plug gapping tool. The tips on our plugs (OEM and Densos) are very delicate.
