Arrow What to do with a slashed soft top?

So questions above is exactly what I'm wondering.
I have a pretty big square right above my head slapping me around whenever I'm on the freeway and the top is up. Some retards slashed it while I was watching Caroline on Friday the 13th (Talk about my bad luck). Well other than getting a brand new softop because money isn't easy in this economy are there any other ways.
I cant stitch for sh*t so I don't even wanna get into that.
Anyone in Socal fix the problem by taking it somewhere for a good quality cheap fix?
Let me know!
Give me any suggestions that arent that pricey!
Thanks!

You might want to post this in the SoCal forums...for better visibility.

Duct tape just doesnt stick .. i tried.. thats how desperate i am.

the cheapest way out would be to do a half-azz stitch just to bring the fabric together. duct tape underneath. go to walmart and go to the fabric/craft section. they sell black iron-on patches for $1.29 (buy all that they stock). there is also a little iron for sale (iron plate might be a two inches long and maybe an inch and a half wide) that is $10. patch up the exterior and then go inside and remove the duct tape and patch up the interior side of the cloth. this easy patch up is going to cost you $20-$30 and maybe an hour or so of your time. originally these patches and mini-iron was for interior patching for prevention of wear areas but i can see it being used in your scenario until you get around to buying a new top.

Thanks but I'm willing to spend maybe near the $150 area at most for a good fix that will last a while.
The above fix how long will it last?

Take the car to a boat repair shop and get their opinion. They should have the equipment and the expertise to make a presentable repair or give you some knowledgable advise on how to do it yourself.

i had two big squares on my top and i sewed it together with a needle and some thread. it took my like 2 hours. then i put some silicon on top of the stiching to prevent water leaks. the sewing looked like crap but the silicon covered it all up. it doesnt look all that bad either....

What is your comprehensive deductable? If you are willing to spend $150, for a little more, why not have insurance replace the top? My comp deductable is $250.
