What search terms are you using? "Izzy Engineering", and "air pump bypass kit" bring up nothing.

Does this kit have any performance advantages?

I'm using one of these as well and it works great. There is no real performance advantage. You might save a little weight. Removing all the associated parts really cleans up the engine bay.

Junk yard lead was a wild goose chase. They didn't have an s2k. So, it looks like I'll be going the bypass route via eBay. Does the kit come with good instructions? Or is there a good write-up somewhere here on the forums?

Ordered it! Can't wait to see a cleaner engine bay. New tires, new paint job, new headlights, & less engine bay clutter. Should be a nice change!

What is the purpose of the s2k OE air pump system? Is it for CA Smog or something?

At startup, engines run intentionally rich. The catalytic converter is cold and won't be burning the excess vapors. The air pump puts fresh air into the exhaust stream which helps ignite the vapors and heat the cat up quicker. This is what makes a s2000 a ulev.

The bypass kit came into today. 1 part of the directions is confusing me.

The valve for the air pump exhaust injection can be removed and replaced with a block off plate if desired, if left attached capping this valve is not necessary.
I didn't get a "block off plate". Where is this valve? I guess I should leave it in place? The instructions show pics of items that can be removed: Air pump & Relay, Air Pump Hoses, Current sensor, and Vacuum Lines and Solenoid. So, I can remove all those items and the only concern is to use the 2 caps on the intake manifold vacuum outlet and air filter neck inlet that came with the kit, correct?

The valve is at the back of the intake manifold. PM Puddydad for a block off if you want to remove it.
