What kind of coolant do you guys use? is there any coolant thats better than the honda 50/50 type 2 stuff? cause that is 20 dollars a gallon!!!! wtf... lol. I am draining the coolant to install the J's fan switch, so i will need to add coolant to it, and was wondering if there is something else i can use that wont hurt the engine...

What kind of issues are possible if the generic green ones are used?
Any reason why we should stick w/ the OEM honda coolants?
I'm worried cuz I added a little bit of those to fill up the reservoir.

I know of at least 3 s2000's including my own that run Green generic coolant. The other 2 are AP1's and have been running it for years.

Havent seen any reason why its not ok.. Possibly the coolant could cause errosion on the cylinders causign loss of compression.

I beleive the Honda coolant has the perfect blend of dca and such to not allow electrolisis to happen. I dont think its a huge deal..

Lets put it this way, have you ever read a thread.... "man i jsut changed to green coolant now @ 10k later my motor is busted." probably not.

i am running oem fluid, their service life is 100k so about 2 times as long as the generic green stuff. ran it on track and never even get the 4th bar(ap1) after 20 minute of hard driving.

on my other car i am running peaks+distilled water(50k service life but i can mine every 30k)
