I found about 3-4 deep scratches right next to each other in cylinder 2 today

I'm going to be pulling the motor soon. I got better bearings from a friend though. Noise on cold start isn't as bad but there's no fixing the cylinder wall(s).

What is the best route to go here? Should I buy a used bare short block in good condition and swap over my internals (as long as they are fine) and replace bearings?

i did but its not always a garantee... the best thing ive done is just buy a jdm short block... that way I get s warentee and the swap goes much smoother

By you saying jdm short block is that a complete bottom end? Or just the bare block? How much does this cost?

Also depending on how bad my block is , which I can tell that number 2 is rough, is the block able to be bored out ?

yeah you can deff boar it out and put 87.25 pistons and rings in there if its not to bad. the key is to get upgraded evrything the first time so that you dont have to pull it out and do it again ..(like me)lol and you should be fine... ill PM you the external link where I get my engines from. its a solid company and they have sold me quite a few engines for diffrent cars. I have faith that with dilagance you could probly build your old one... I just think it would be easier for you to buy a compleate long block from these guys in canada.
