What is normal compression (cold and hot)
With the engine at room temp of about 80F, I get 185-195 compression (wide open throttle) and it takes about 4 cycles to get there. All cylinders the same. Car has 170k miles. Didn't measure engine warm. Sound healthy enough?
Car consumes oil. I guess about a quart every 300 miles. I don't see any smoke or leaks. No smoke on morning start ups. It just drops on the dipstick. Plugs look normal too. Any ideas? PCV? What else can I check?

Sounds like the engine is more than likely healthy, the main thing your looking for is consistency across the numbers.
I think "good numbers" for a fully-warm engine is 220 across the board. I know that high mileage F20 engines are very prone to burning oil, but I don't exactly know what causes it. What oil are you using? I know that Mobil 1 has (what seems) to be a much higher tendency to burn than other brands.

A quart every 300 miles is NOT healthy.Comp numbers seem fine from what you've asid alone, but I'd get a leak down asap.
Edit: and yes, check your PCV. With the engine running squeeze the lead hose and have your ear near the PCV. If it make a 'click' sound when closing and opening flow on the lead tube then it's fine. If not, it's not fine.
