Default What is the purpose of this hose?

i need to replace my intake tube because it cracked. I was wondering what is the purpose of the hose that is connected on the radiator side of this tube?

It provides filtered air to the air pump under the drivers side headlight.

Ohhhh billman thank you!!
Another user here gave me his ap1 intake tube (mines an 04) and it looked like this hole on his tube was completely plugged from factory. Any idea why ap1's would be like this?

He deleted the air pump which renders that tube useless

The air pump simply warms up your cat faster

ap1 intakes did not have the hole plugged from the factory, the owner must have done that when removing the air pump system. You should be able to open it up but you will need the metal connector plug for inside of the hole which you can transfer from your old pipe.

^ they often crack after a certain age, mine did and I bought a new one.
