w.r.t. the jack stands is there anything I need to look for at the point where it touches the car? (Apologize my lack of terminology) ie, do I want one that is flat? cup-shaped? Same goes for the jack.

I think I want to start doing all of my own basic maintenance on the Camry, but I wouldn't want to exclude working on my soon to be purchased S2K. For some reason the fact that I now have a garage didn't dawn on me when I bought my house last year.
