we raced from about a 45 roll, by 130 he had slowly pulled ahead about a quater car, i was at the front of his door. i definaly know my car, so my driving isnt it, but you are right the driver is a big factor. what kind of gains should i notice from the tuning?

smoother powerband, maybe 7whp peak, but some people found a gain of 15whp+ throughout the band

i have a vafc2 ( not tuned but inline pro is tuning it monday)
I agree with SIIK2NR. A bad tune can easily lose 10% hp. What do you expect from a bad fuel-tune?

Always run Video. I can never stress this enough. This way, The Jump, driver skill and other factors can be accurately determined.

Sounds about right, since the Z is a bit faster, you didn't really lose that badly.

Lucky bastard. I raced a Z w/ intake and exhaust and lost by 2 carlengths from a 60-65 roll. Im a quick shifter (yeah I saw wisconsins vid) so the driver isnt it. He said alot of people think his cars a factory freak (I hope so) and that he beats other Z's with similar mods bigtime. Im gonna race another one soon.

I feel the same way sometimes, It has a lot to do with perception affected mostly by emotion/attitude believe it or not. When the evening comes around and I'm going to hang out with friends or something else, cooler air/my happiness makes my car go faster.

crazy theory huh
