Default When bypassing AC Pully

It doesn't look like the belt has much contact w/ the water pump and alternator pullies.

Anyone had a problem w/ belt slipping?

I couldn't tell if there was any slipping or not, so perhaps there wasn't any? I have had no problems.

Have you gotten lighter pulleys? There are great.

nope stock pulleys. Just removing my AC. You should be able to see slippage as odd wear on the belts I would think.

The belt has been looking fine. I am using a 455K6, which is slightly longer than needed. I have tried 450K6, but the index indicator was out of service range, as the belt was too short. Given time, the 450 belt length might have been fine, as I think the 455 has stretched some, but is still under tension, so I am sticking with the 455.

How much HP are you guys gaining from doing this? I think I have used the AC a total of 2 times since I got the car.

Its not so much for gaining HP but for shedding weight. About 25lbs removed from the front of the car. Of coarse I'll be adding that weight back when I install my oil cooler. Oh well.

I couldn't belive the completely buggered state of the AC radiator when I pulled it out! It must have been acting as an air block to the main radiator as every fin was bent and blocking air flow.

That is why I have black plastic door/window screen zip tied to the front grill. I might be blocking some air flow, but in the long run this seems to prevent cooling degradation to the degree that you might have seen.
