advice on purchasing salvaged s2k 02
Hi, I'm new here.... I wanted to get some input from you folks here. I have an opportunity to get a wrecked S2K with what seems to be suspension and some possible undercarriage damage. From the photos, seems like he/she hit a curve and bent in suspension, mainly in the rear.
I know the S2K is an awesome handling machine. So I don't know if purchasing and fixing this one is a good idea since the suspension has been jeopardized. Also, would there be potentially large problems with the rear drivetrain being in an accident like this? Any idea what this would cost?
Hope these pics help...

You want to find out if the frame is straight. After that, everything is just bolt on parts replacement.
Doesn't look too bad to me, but looks can be deceiving.
How much?
I say buy it and respray it Monte Carlo blue.

FYI... my S2k was in a similar accident, and so far the total repair bill is about 19k (I should get the final total next week). About 10k of that was parts, the rest was painting & labor. You might want to keep that in mind. This salvaged S2k may not be such a bargain.
But, like S2kRob said, as long as the frame is straight the car should be OK. On mine, everything had clean breaks and didn't do any frame damage. Only difference was that I broke stuff at 3 of the 4 corners, plus I had body damage on the right rear fender & right door.
The only disagreement that I have is, I don't think you should paint it a different color. It's too much trouble, and it gets expensive if you do it right (i.e., painting inside the engine bay, all the door jambs, etc). But, if you do respray it... Monte Carlo Blue does look sweet!

What are they asking for the car? You should find out what parts it is going to need and total them up. OEM Honda stuff is extremely expensive, and because it's an S2000, they magnify the price that much more. Be sure you know what your getting into before you get into it.
