I did a search and found alot of different opinions. So if a tech, or someone really knowledgable, let me know if I can go synthetic at 9,300 miles. I want to go with Royal Purple.

I'm sure you've already read the opinions of those who are "really knowledgable", and a tech won't be qualified to answer. You have already gone long enough by Honda's recommendation.

yep, im at 11500 and im chaning to mobil one today!

 

When does Honda recommend to go synthetic? There's your answer.

 

I went with Amsoil Syn. at 6500 miles. I am now at 12k, and have never burned a drop of oil. (in the whole 12K) :knocksonwood:

 

i did it on my first oil change at 7k. everything is still workin

my dealer wouldnt let me go synthetic until 12,000 miles!
not sure why, but i waited...
so you know- vtec is not as pronounced as before (i went synthetic and changed exhausts at the same time, so it is possible that the exhaust contributed to the change too).
