When to do valve adjustments?
Valve adjustment is a pretty basic job to do. With that said the stealership should be good given the price is right. If you have any performance shops around you I would rather go that route. As for mileage I usually try to have mine done every 30,000 miles. depending on your driving style you can go to 60,000. I always redline my car so I stay on top of it. I have had 2 done and I am at 75,000 miles
my buddy and I did a valve adjustment after his H22 got rebuilt...with a good set of gauges and a little research it's a DIY job. I'd say don't waste your money. On the other hand, if you're a paranoid kinda person, realize that you could end up dropping a valve and ruining the motor if done incorrectly.

I also had to do a valve adjustment on my 07. I've noticed that a few 07s on the forum had to do the same after getting a check engine light and pulling a misfire code. Is this specific to the 07 model year? I previously had an 02 and I never got a misfire code let alone had to do a valve adjustment. My driving style hasn't changed ( redlining through the gears 2 to 3 times a week).
Fortunately, I didn't have to pay for the adjustment since I got the extended warranty.
