Default when does oil consumption stop?!?

ok i have about 6000miles in my car now and its still drinking oil like mad! so far i have used 3 quarts or oil. im thinking my rings wont properly set because of improper break-in. not by me, rather the people that test drive the car before me. when my parents bought me the car it had about 40 miles on it.

do you guys think that those 40miles that the car was test driven that it is possible that the engine was damaged? if so do i have an arguement with the dealership concerning repairing the damage done if possible?

Thanks for the any info you can give me

Stop freakin', no worries. Every S2K uses oil at it's own pace, and it has NOTHING to do with those 40 miles...most probably ...kidding. You're using oil for 2 reasons and 2 reasons alone...

1. The rings are soft

2. The cylinder walls are FRM with ceramic

You're fine. Do a search, many peeps have had the same usage. I personally have found that the harder I drive my car the more oil it uses, and I drive the hell out of it. It's ok, oil i cheap .

<smartass_mode>When does it stop? When you stop driving the car.</smarass_mode>

Actually, my car didn't burn ANY oil for the first 20-25k. But lately it burns about a quart or even a little more between changes. It makes me a little worried, but I'm using 5W30 Mobil 1, so that could be it. I'll switch to Mobil 1 10-30 next time.
