Noob question (very little experience with under the s2k hood...old dsm'er)

Can you tell me where this screws into? Mine's just dangling in there, not sure why. And what the heck is it?

Do not disconnect, it will give a 411 code

 

The hole on that piece is to screw into the car's factory air box. If your car has a cold air intake or any aftermarket intake, the stock airbox will have been taken out, and that's why the sensor is hanging loose.

 

You probably have or have had an aftermarket intake, you can just zip tie it to the cross member if you do have an aftermarket intake.

 

I just zip tied it across my intake arm pipe. I have an after market exhaust so it doesn't attach anywhere.

 

This is a thread I made back when I was troubleshooting a CEL I had. I had an AEM intake on at the time. One photo shows how it is bolted onto my AEM intake. There is a diagram image that might be able to help you figure out where it goes on a stock intake.

I have determined that my car has had an intake at one point. There's some random clips missing. I already run the 411 CEL...so I think they hooked this up wrong. I'll just zip tie it in there somewhere and look into the 411.

As the story unfolds I believe I found another part of the p0411 cel. I have a capped section at the end of this entire get-up, and I believe my lines are mis-routed. I'd like to know how to turn this back to OEM. Thoughts?
