Default whining diff...how long will it last?

so i have a whining diff...what if i just drive like a granny and shift smoothly...dont go over 4-5k rpm..

because im low on cash at the moment and i plan on saving up 1600 to send it to puddymod.

and i use the car every weekend, driving on the highway, and make about 60-100miles round trip.

Did you check the differential fluid level? When was the last time you changed fluid? Maybe just bad or low fluid.....hopefully. If it is low fluid you may have already damaged your gears and bearings in the differential, hence the whine....hopefully not.

Could last days, could last months. The question is: do you feel lucky?

If a diff did ultimately die on him, would it lock up and stop the tires from turning... or would it spin freely and he would roll to a stop?

Don't all S2k Diffs whine?, mine has been whining since day 1, I am up to 81,000miles, and the last 12 have been boosted, just don't dump the clutch

Mine whines at 11k but not to the point of distraction. I assumed it to be normal and may be common with the LSD. Hope so anyway.l

If your diff's whine is anything like mine, I suspect you're worrying about nothing. I recommend you bang 9k every day and have fun.

its noticeable when i have my top up and low music on. i was actually messing around with a porsche on the highway, dumped the clutch from 5th to 4th, and heard a pop. ever since then, my clutch has been whining.

I'm confused: is your differential whining or is your clutch whining? Or are you trying to tell us that both are whining?
