Whistling?
Definitely the intake. Next time it does it, carefully move the throttle in or out a little and you can make it constant. It happens the most at low speed, such as in a parking lot. It almost sounds like brake squeal.
yup your right intake i tried the volume thing didnt work but it got higher the more gas i gave then it would cut out. So is this just a loose hose or something i can fix or is something imma have to live with

heh if its a whistling sound only when you give it gas at that certain rpm range then its your intake, when i first got my car i wondered about it too but i loved it so i took the cover off the intake box and now it whistles louder
i can make it whistle as long as i want it anytime now, its fun cause people that doesnt know what it is goes

I have the K&N also and it produces the same annoying whistle. Mine appears at 3200-3400 rpm and it is always as I am accelerating. I have not yet found a means to fix it other than turning the audio system up.
