got the car back from the bottom end rebuild.. have about 1,200 miles on the new motor.. drives and vtecs fine (not sure its as strong as it was) had 63k on the motor before the bottom end rebuild.
I've noticed white smoke when i start her up, at a stop light leaving a jet trail, and when i vtec once in a while.. but that all happens only occasionally.. not all the time. My best guess is that the new piston rings aren't seating.. cause other then that it drives normal.
I checked to make sure it wasn't coolant by doing the radiator cap test and checkin the spark plugs.
-its a new motor so it is burning through oil.. i noticed it seems to smoke the most when oil level is at the H.. and seems to go away when its low.. i've been keeping an eye on it to make sure the oil level stays up.

Too many variables to come up w/ a good diagnosis.
(1) Did you break the new motor in and how long did you perform the break-in?
(2) Was the oil ever changed?
(3) What's the compression numbers?
(4) Since this was a rebuild ...were the cylinders re-honed and is there a fresh glaze break?
Like I said, more information is required.
White smoke usually equals a blown headgasket though. Do a compression test.

white/creamy smoke usually has to do a with a cooalnt problem(maybe faulty head gasket, etc)
blue smoke = bag rings, burning oil
i believe your rings aren't seated well. did you breakin the motor properly?

2. yes oil was changed, w/ the new motor Castrol GTX 10w 30.. i plan to change the oil at 1,500 on the new motor its at about 1,200 right now. i have been keeping an eye on the oil level and topping it off. i've used about 1 whole extra quart that its burned through during break in.
3. I don't know I just know that the Honda mechanics did a compression/leak down test and said all 4 cylinders were good.
4. the Cylinders were sleeved and re-honed.
I would take it back and have it check out and if they say its all set, get it in wrighting. White smoke is never good. You might want to take it to another dealer and have them do the compression test, just to be safe and to cover yourself.
