J's 4.44 gear will also tweak the speedo a little bit so it will not be reading out correctly. currently there is no fix for this side-effect.
If you are interested in purchasing the J's gear, Tim at MG Racing can get it for you.

We have a set of 4.3 final gear in stock, and if you want 4.44 we can have that shipped to you in less than 2 weeks. i don't recommend going over to 4.7 unless you don't ever plan on high speed runs.

If you can drive, I think you could cut 1/2 a second off your quater mile... and you should still be able to go through the traps in forth gear...with 4.77 you might need to put it in 5th by the end

The point for shorter gears is to be more likely in the power band during turns??!
Don't know much about track racing or reasons for new gears...someone want to enlighten me?
