Why No Molded Plastic CAI?
Why hasn't someone made the same CAI as Spoon or Mingsters in molded plastic? Is it too cost restrictive? I know it would be a welcome additional option to CF. Probally less expensive also. So how come? The CAI is a functional item more than an astetic one. Sure would like to see it done.

My guess is that compared to plastic, CF does a better job insulating, thus keeping the air cooler.

a small injection mold costs something like $10K to start with, and that's McDonald's toy sizes.

The quantities you could sell would never justify injection molding. This would likely be a pressure-formed or cast plastic application. Tooling for one of those would be in the $2-$5K range. What you give up is dirt-cheap part costs of IM and a bit of dimensional integrity. Could be done.
