Default Why is there no production inline-8?

Just curious. Fitment within engine bays? Any advantages/disadvantages to this configuration?

inline 8 is too long, imagine 8 cylinders lined up. plus the configuration of a V8 can offer better low end torque and obviously saves space too compared to an I8.

1) Hard to fit in today's small engine compartment.
2) Torsional vibration of long crankshaft.

fuel rails would be huge too, getting gas in all cylinders would be a bitch.
