When i drive i hear what sounds like a grinding noise coming right below the shifter in the direction of the transmission. the noise is only noticable when i accelerate. when i am in neutral or ease off the gas the noise gets quieter.

anyone have any ideas what it could be?

please let me know if anyone has any experience with this!

 

i found out its the throw out bearing. how would i go about fixing this?

 

remove trans and replace it. while it's out, might as well replace the clutch and flywheel.
