Default Will a 2005 airbag work in a 2006?

A guy wants to buy the driver's airbag from my '05 but he wants to put it into a 2006. It looks like it would fit no problem, but will it work without any issues? I've seen pictures of the '06 bag and noticed that it looks different. It has two wires going from the back to the plug whereas my airbag only has one wire going to the plug. Any input is appreciated!

NO, it will not work. 00-05 are a single stage air bag while 06+ are dual stage.

Without having the schematics I don't see why a 05 airbag won't work with the 06 SRS unit electrically. It'll just function as a one-stage airbag.

The connectors are different; you'll either need to change the reel to make it work or fab a custom harness between the two connections.

I say it'll work, but not a plug n play part. Probably not worth the effort...

I thought it wouldn't because of the plugs but thought I'd ask in case anyone has done it before. I know some years are interchangeable but apparently not 05->06.

Thanks guys
