Default Windshield Wiper Nozzle

Hi,

The drivers side windshield wiper nozzle on my S seems to be clogged or something. I've tried compressed air (from every possible angle), using a needle (very carefully) to see if I can clean it all to no avail. Any other methods? There's little fluid that comes out of it which leaves me to believe that it's just clogged or maybe poorly adjusted? Is there a way to adjust the nozzles? The passenger side one works fine.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Hardtopguy sells them for $12.50 each. I'm tempted to replace mine. A previous owner got wax all over in them so the spray patters are weird.

Anyone know of other sources to replace these? I need to head to the dealer anyway, so maybe I should just buy there.

usually compressed air work well for lose pieces in the nozzle but for something heavy duty like dried up wax in the nozzle you can do this..

take the nozzle out from the hood, carefully position and spray some brake cleaner in the inlet, i have yet to see a clogged nozzle after this.

the trick is not get any brake cleaner onto the painted surface of the nozzle, and of course your face when it does shoots out.

clean the whole thing with soap and water after it's jam free.

Thanks for the input gentlemen - how do you take the nozzles out (from the hood)? There's nothing about it in the manual and a search on these forums didn't reveal it either.

open the hood, squeeze the push in tab on the underside to lift it up

You think a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water would do it?

i'm surprised the push pin/needle does not work. I wold not be easy on it, for a 12 dollar part, I'd get the biggest pin/needle that would fully fit into the jet and work it around, have never seen that not work.

also it is possible that something is blocking the INSIDE of the jet before the hole, in other words, debris has entered the feed line from your washer tank, through the pump, to the jet, the only way to fix that would be to pull the feed line off the rear of the jet, make sure it flows freely and also pull the washer jet from the hood and then check its input port from the feed line and make sure it is empty/clear.

^^^ I was just about to suggest checking the hose too, seems like the only other thing since you've attacked the nozzle itself.
