I think low-temp limiter is closer to 6K.
Any CEL (Check Engine Light)? If not, try unplugging the MAP sensor and plugging it back in securely.

Have you checked under your gas pedal for any obstructions. I know it sounds stupid but the floor mat bunched up under the gas pedal of my Evo and I could not accelerate pas 5k for a while
