Default Would this work for pre-loading the suspension?

When I get in my eibach springs, heres the plan I have. I'll install the springs like normal, and just barley tighten the a-arm and strut mount bolts. Then, jack up the front of the car, and lower the wheels down on to some 12" ramps I have that are too steep to "drive" on to... crwal under and tighten... jack it up, and remove ramps / lower. and practically do the same for the rear. One thing I was curious about, and forgive me if this is a dumb question ( my first full RWD car ), but can I jack up the rear of the car, with the front's on the ground, or would I have to use a stop for the front wheels?

Any input would be appreciated.

As a reminder here, the emergency brake works on the BACK wheels only.
Also when you put your RWD in gear, that will stop the BACK wheels only.
What I'm trying to say here is NOTHING stops the front wheels while the back is jacked up. Hint Hint.

NEVER jack up either end of the vehicle without the opposite end wheels blocked. DO NOT rely on the e/p-brake or gears to hold the vehicle while you crawl around under it.

It's not worth your life. Chocks are cheap.

That's really good advice.

That being said, I jack up the rear all the time using the diff, and just trust friction to keep my floor jack from moving. It never has so far. I would never go under the car without jackstands, though.

Okay, so I'll chock the front wheels, and get some extras so I can be sure to chock ALL wheels on the ground in the future, but no one's commented on my plan for pre-loading the suspension yet :/

Correct. The suspension should be compressed before tightening the upper a-arm bolts (especially), and the lower shock bolt (not critical, as there is minimal rotation of the bushing when the car is lowered onto the suspension).
