Do you have young children around your car at all when the valvecover may have been open ?.

On my Civic my radio kept shorting out, I took it to my Honda dealer for warranty work and they found the radio was full of coins, turns out that my young son was using the cd slot as a piggybank and we never seen him feeding coins into the radio, lol.

Failing young children I'd blame the powdercoating shop. When I got my valvecover powdercoated I decided to wash it out and I couldn't believe the amount of sand and dirt that came out of the valvecover, and they never told me anything about it. If I had used it right away without washing it I would have had a ton of sand in my engnie.

I still think its to big for ceramic beads. The ceramic beads used in media blasting are usually the same size (or close to)

What ever it is, its weird!

They're not too big to be used in a tumbler. It may have been tumbled prior to powedercoat.

I was looking at the top of the head and it seems there isn't much that can be affected in there. All that's exposed are the valve springs and they are not spaced out enough for a bead to get in the way. The rest of the nooks have oil in them which would cause the beads to float on the surface.

I'm guessing the rest would have to fall in the oil pan. Not sure what parts are at the surface of the oil level down there.

I'm going to pull the pan and hopefully not see any of these in there.

All I can think of is one getting into an oil line and interfering with the flow.
