Just wondering if 1 year old le-607 diff fluid is alright to use. Thoughts, opinions?

Its not a good idea to drink it but if you mix it with a soft drink or dilute 1:1 it will be fine... Mikey said so....

If it's in a sealed bottle it's 100% OK to use.

Cool. but after mixing it 1:1 with a soft drink I dont feel so well.

Not necessarily. Oil oxidizes over time. hence the reason your owner's manual gives both MILEAGE and TIME as intervals to do OCIs. Whichever comes first, you should change it.

Also, keep in mind, LE607 is NOT synthetic. So it will oxidize faster than say Mobil 1.


I would never leave LE607 in a diff for more than a year.

People have had this stuff lab tested at the two year mark and it was still going strong. Why the one year limit?
