Default Is your s2000 tempermental?

Hey guys- has anyone noticed with the hot weather (and in my case Teneseee humidity) your cars are running a tad slower? Not sure if its in my head or not- but it feels as if my vtec isnt pulling like it should. Of course- in the evening and morning it feels a little better- I am debating putting my car on the dyno- but i hear some AP1 's are faster then others from the factory- as opposed to ap2's where the general concensus is the are all pretty much the same hp. Can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks

Its normal, air become denser in colder weather resulting in more air going through your intake. And vise versa in warmer weather

The density of the air plays a part, but the real difference you feel is because the ecu retards timing because of the hotter air it detects with the iat sensor. If you're going to dyno your the day you pick can make a difference. Wait for a cold front.

The AP2 is bogging a bit in Memphis. But it is July and it is very hot outside. Heat soak is not on our side this time of year. Unless you want to risk a CAI and hydrolock, don't worry about it. Mine is fine on cooler mornings or evenings.

The term is "heat soak" and it will affect the amount of power your engine makes.

I have a Spoon Snorkle and I lined the inside of my air box with 2 layers of insulating foil. That alone has made a huge differance.

I'm in Nashville and I've gone through the same. It's just a matter of what has been discussed by the other posts.
