Wow…when it rains it pours. Glad she is getting the immediate care she needs. Wishing for the best for everyone.

Not to blow sunshine here Joey, but the Parkinson's may be a misdiagnosis and it is actually due to the tumor.

Hoping for the best for you and your family Joey. I was thinking along the lines of what Jerry posted maybe the Parkinson’s is a misdiagnosis and the brain tumor is the cause.

So true, Jerry. Parkinson's is diagnosed based on symptoms but a scan and mri are usually done to confirm or as one neurologist told us when Jim was diagnosed, if rapid improvement occurs with meds, then we know it is Parkinsons. I so hope your mil's tumor can be successfully removed and she can resume a normal life.

They ordered a CAT scan and MRI and found a growth on her brain, she is being transported to our city for emergency brain surgery today. We have some world class hospitals here and it is great that they can do this surgery on short notice, we have some great neurosurgeons here. She was just diagnosed with Parkinsons but that was before they discovered the growth on her brain, she was previously scheduled to have a CAT scan in May as part of her initial treatment but this was sped up now due to her trip to the ER. We will be heading out to meet up at the hospital, and bringing my father-in-law to our place to sleep tonight if all goes well. Crazy events but we hope this will really help our MIL.
Hoping for an update.

How many times have we heard "If it hurts, don't do that."? I've got a few issues with one foot. Ball of foot pain, joint pain in toe, arthritis. I've been managing it with some of the Voltaren gel and Advil. A little more issue of late, so I made an appointment with an ortho for possible cortisone shot. He discouraged me from getting the shot last time. Too bad as I was ready, and willing. Shots in the foot HURT I've been told.

I don't jump in my Y classes, I haven't done Zumba for a long while, mostly due to a preference for other classes and the ball of foot doesn't like it. I don't run more than a lap or two around the track which is very infrequent activity. I need weight bearing exercises for my fragile little bones, so swimming (I'm not a pool girl) and spinning (which I do like) should not be my only exercise.

It's getting harder to stay healthy and in shape when our parts start breaking down, getting my steps in (which is good for the bones) can aggravate the foot.....................I know could be worse, so much worse!!
