2016 Miata
I went nuts over the very first Miata, some 25 years ago. It rekindled my love (which never really died) for roadsters. On top of that, it was reliable and got rave reviews in every publication I could find.
Getting married and having children that first year it came out, damped my realistic need for it, until the kids were up and old enough to be out of the house. By then, I stumbled upon my S and couldn't be happier. If I didn't get my S that night at the dealership where I found it, I would have walked across the street to the Mazda dealer for a Miata that night.
I intend to keep my S for as long as possible, but if something horrible happened to it, the Miata would be my first go to replacement. I like the new styling. I'm just waiting to see what power plant they put into it, too. I think Mazda has another winner.

^I agree, I'm not going to replace the S with the Miata. The S gives me everything I need in a roadster, and since I replaced the gearbox with a 2008 with carbon fiber synchros, it's the best shifting car I've ever owned.
I like the look. I like the round tail lights, but not the turn signals. 2200 lbs sounds great! I've missed a light weight sports car ever since giving up my X1/9s. I would be very interested if I didn't own an S2000.
Well, the current car is 2475 pounds and Mazda says it will be more than 220 pounds lighter, so I guess it will be more than 2200 pounds. Probably 2250.
Looks good to me in the photos.. front and side; ass depends what it looks like from normal heights... TBD. Bill, like you said its good to see a company that just keeps improving the product after all these years, rather then dropping out the game with a one-hit wonder.
Thanks for noticing the point, Dave.
I've never understood Honda's strategy. They come up with a model that does very well but they run it virtually unchanged until it stops selling. Then they discontinue it. I'd have thought that they'd update the cars every few years and have more running models than just the Accord and Civic.
