Default 3385 Pounds!!!!!!!!?

I know this is outrageously geeky, but I was reading the shop manual, and...

Did you know our car was this heavy? I read the Carney book and other things and I don't recall any mention of the S2000's actual weight of the car.

With all the attention paid to weight savings, I guess the kick-ass X-bone frame and the heavy suspension parts really socked on the weight. Any thoughts? (other than "Chazmo, get a friggin' life!")

(by the way, I voted "couldn't care less," since it doesn't seem to matter)

On the Honda website it says 2835 lbs., weight distribution 49/51 front/rear.

Check it here

Says US 3,385lbs, CAN 1,535kg...

Is "GVWR" (gross vehicle weight rating) not the actual vehicle weight?

:heads to Google:

Damn, I'm a moron... Sorry for misleading everyone.

Thank you Google for leading this horse to water:

The gross vehicle weight rating of a vehicle shall be not less than the sum of (a) the unloaded vehicle mass, (b) the cargo-carrying capacity,
