I got pulled over many years ago for 75 in a 55. Little did he know I was going closer to 100 minutes earlier. I was driving a $200 winter beater, it was 2:00am. When he approached the car, he commented on the expired 10 day temporary inspection sticker and the burned out tail light. He took my paper work and was gone for what seemed like forever. Came back, told me to take it easy, and left without giving me a ticket! I think two things saved me. He was looking for a DWI and I was stone sober, and I came across traffic and slowed to 55 before his lights came on.

Oh Trav, you're scaring me. You must have been some kinda bold back in the day to order those plates.
Most people couldn't figure out what NVR CAUT meant. Even if they figured out the words they didn't know what I hadn't been caught doing.

I did have a lady park ranger ask if the plate meant I was single.

Don't get me started on this slow day at the office.
Nice Jonas, good Jonas!

There is no longer wait than waiting for him/her to come back to your car. And it seems that everyone that you have ever met your entire life is driving by watching you!

We'll see how slow I am when the Blue Bayou blows by everything like it's standing still. I'm just itching for a ticket, huh? Luckily, it's supposed to rain so I won't be going all that fast if it does. Otherwise, I'd show you slow, mister.

Are radar detectors illegal in PA or NJ?

I've had many tickets in 42 years of driving but the one that stands out were two actually. I was on the freeway (about 15 years ago) and got pulled over for about 10-15 over the speed limit. Didn't argue as I was guilty, took the ticket and drove on. Got off the freeway about 10 miles up the road and at the first light there was an accident involving a motorcyle and a car. There were at least two officers on site and as I went through the intersection the light turned yellow. (legal to proceed) I saw a cop get in his car and pull out after me. He pulled me over and came up to my window in a foul mood. I asked what I had done and he said I ran the red light! And someone running the light had caused the accident, as well. I told him no way, it was yellow, but I got a ticket. Sooo, I went to court weeks later and the cop showed up too. We both told our side, then the judge let me question him. He had testified that he saw the light change to red, but where he was standing and where his car was parked, he was at a 90 degree angle to my light and couldn't have seen it. He testified he was parked up where he could see the light, but when I asked him why he parked 50 feet away from the accident scene and around the corner, he had no explanation. The judge knew he was lying and threw out the ticket. That's the one I'll always remember.

Sometime in April at 10:30 pm, after working a 14 hour day, I was finally on my way home. It was dark and rainy. I was tired, frustrated, chilled and hungry. I'd been working all day and didn't stop to have lunch or dinner......
It's lucky that your plates didn't say "FASTEST"......

Most memorable ticket...

Ok, years ago...I was 16, bought my grandparents '77 Caddy Coup de Ville...lime green, green leather interior, classic beautiful car. My sister and I were driving it back from Texas to NC, we're in GA, and I guess I was going about 15 over, maybe GA state patrol pulls me over, huge officer, big hat and mirror glasses is about all I remember, he looked at my license, looked at the plates (NC license TX plates) asked me what I was doing with a Texas car in GA...I explained I had my license for 18 days and had bought my grandparents car and was driving it back (at this point I was shaking and terrified)...he laughed, handed me my license and said, "I just can't do this to you, slow down and get home"

We pulled off at the next exit and I made my sister drive the rest of the way home

Jim and I got his and hers tickets on our way to SC a couple/weeks ago. The trooper nailed us just as the V-1 went off. Jim radioed me that we'd just gotten nailed and I saw the trooper do a U-turn and force Jim over to the side. Then Mr. Trooper came back and got me by forcing me off the road. I was traveling in the S with BB (my dog) who thankfully was safely belted into her car seat or she would have a trooper finger snack. She doesn't like strangers. Anyhoo, he said we were doing 72 in a 55 and wanted to know why. Duhhhh, because we were in a hurry??? What did he expect us to say? I told him honestly I had no idea of the speed, I was just happily cruising. Anyway, he reduced both tickets to 64 in a 55 and we mailed in the fines. I guess that's just part of the price we pay for driving on America's highways.

I was in my early twenties and drove my first car, a orange VW bug. I lived in Atlanta but had good friends I visited often in Nashville, TN. Anyway, on my way home on a Labor Day, I went thru a speed trap. As soon as I pulled over, I jumped out of my car and ran back to the officier. (I was a lot thinner then and could really run!) I said " Officier, officier, I am so sorry. I didn't think you guys worked on Labor Day!" He burst out laughing and gave me a warning!
