64mph in a 45mph
Last year Kim and I were let off with a warning in Georga for doing 98 on I-75 heading to Florida.
Most of the drive down to Florida we were cruising around 130+. It only took us 12 hours to get to the Florida State line
I just had a feeling they were watching me thru Atlanta on their highway camera system so I back it down to 98.
More info below, just follow the link.

Fred,
That's the funniest speeding story I have ever heard! I can't believe it's not a spoof, Pinocchio! I think Kim must deserve a lot of the credit, too. They couldn't just turn you loose again on their hwys, could they?!!

Jim radioed me that we'd just gotten nailed and I saw the trooper do a U-turn and force Jim over to the side. Then Mr. Trooper came back and got me by forcing me off the road. I was traveling in the S with BB (my dog) who thankfully was safely belted into her car seat or she would have a trooper finger snack.
She doesn't like strangers. Anyhoo, he said we were doing 72 in a 55 and wanted to know why. Duhhhh, because we were in a hurry??? What did he expect us to say? I told him honestly I had no idea of the speed, I was just happily cruising. Anyway, he reduced both tickets to 64 in a 55 and we mailed in the fines. I guess that's just part of the price we pay for driving on America's highways.

Ah.....the good old days....when 13 of us got pinched in NC....en route to the Outer Banks II drive in late March 2002. Link to the sign-up thread.....only the last post records our joint guilt
As I recall, the charge was 85 in a 55; later reduced to some non-point civil charge for all except the leader, Mr. Hesel. He nicely paid the attorney fee for the group effort
Imagine that trooper's delight....he thought it was Christmas in March
He had to call for back-up to write all the tix
