Adopting
As some of you know, we lost our little Westie Maggie (pictured in my avatar) back in August. Since then, we have been searching the Westie Rescue groups looking for another dog. Though we will never be able to replace Maggie, we still would like to share our love with another Westie. Well, someone from the Maryland Westie Rescue called tonight with a dog that needs adopting, Mr. Jingles. He is an older dog (about 9 years old), but looks almost like Maggie, and we are seriously considering adopting him. Bea talked to his foster mom for quite a while tonight, and he seems like he would fit with us very nicely.
We may have a very special Christmas present very soon! I'll let you know when we finally decide.

I think that's great of you to consider an older dog. How long do Westies live, usually?
For a German Shepherd, 9 is pretty old and I wouldn't want to take one on when I knew it didn't have but a couple years left.

It's a difficult decision to make, since Mr. Jingles is an older dog, but we have a void in our hearts that we need to fill.
Thanks for your good wishes, Patty.
