Adopting
Amazing how animals/pets effect our lives.
We have adopted, rescued, fostered more animals then I can remember. Everything from brother and sister dogs to an iguana (that is a good story). We are mostly cat folks and they seem to find us. We currently have 4, 2 older males, one with diabetes that we have to give shots twice a day and the other adopted us just by hanging around the house. The other two are younger females, one we raised from VERY young having to bottle feed or tube feed her every several hours like a child or she would not have survived, her mother was hit by a car. The other was one of a litter of TEN that we fostered and she was the last one that we couldn't resist, she is AWESOME.
Man that was an interesting couple of weeks with 10 kittens taking over

Good luck with the new one and sorry to hear about your loss. We have also had to put down two pets and it is the worst thing EVER!!

Well, we just got a call from the Westie Rescue representative, and we are to meet our potential rescue dog at the Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital tomorrow afternoon, where he will be checked out thoroughly before we make a decision. This is the same vet office where we met and adopted our last dog, Maggie, so I am sure we will be happy with Mr. Jingles.
He has some health issues (sight) that the rescue folks were completely honest about, so we will be going into this openly. Pics to follow if we do go through with this adoption!
What I'd like to know is, when I get old and have poor sight will you and Bea be around to take care of me?
Seriously, thank you so much for considering taking in Mr. Jingles. I hope you and he live a long and happy life together.

Time to meet Mr. Jingles (I think we will call him MJ
)
Here are Bea and MJ when we first met him at the Vet's office this afternoon:

He was very comfortable riding in the back seat on the way home:

The first thing he wanted to do when we got him home was to chow down:

He and Bea immediately bonded. Here they are on the sofa, watching TV:

He seems to be totally at home here:

It's so nice to have another Westie back in the house. It is amazing how much he looks like our Maggie.
They could have been brothers and sisters. Just glad we could rescue him and give him a few more years of unconditional love.
