Default Am I missing something?

This morning I was expecting for a return phone call so I cruised Vintage Owners will I waited.
There was a subject dealing with Health Insurance Companies. I don't remember all the details but it seems to me that Lainey was suspicious about being called by her health insurer. I posted a reply from a Canadian perspective.

I just came back to Vintage this afternoon and found the subject and all references to it had disappeared. I checked my posting history and there was no record of my post.

Hmmmmm! I must be losing my mind. Did the subject get too hot and the thread deleted by Big Brother?

Can anyone enlighten me?

The subject veered into political territory (tends to happen) and was moved to Vintage Politics. You have to be a member to access that site.

I'll sum it up. We didn't solve anything.

Some of us believe it's too intrusive to have insurance companies calling based on a health condition.

Others believe it could help to keep costs/premiums down.

Most of us want to change the system......we don't agree on how that can be accomplished.

And so it goes.

Feel free to come to Vintage anytime.

All are welcome to post here, and start threads.

Moving this thread to Politics has involved consultation from outside of Vintage. As the thread stands now, it belongs in Politics. There is nothing wrong with being in Politics, and a move to Politics involves no stigma. (BTW As ^ Jerry knows -- besides having access to political discussions, there are other advantages to being a dues paying member of S2ki.)

Some of the discussion in this thread became "political in nature" (cf. cthree's rule # 5) and are not allowed anywhere on the site except in one of the two Politics Venues. The move has to do with political content, not with civility or being inflammatory. And the move involves no personal indictment of anyone. We just have to keep our political views to ourselves -- except in Politics.

Tomorrow I will try to clean up Lainey's thread and return it to Main Vintage.

I certainly do understand why this thread was moved to "Politics" as my thought was that it was tending to get political, too.

I do have a question, though?

I was thinking that, in the past, when a thread was moved to "Politics," there was a notation on the topic on the main Vintage board "table of contents" that the thread had been moved to "Politics." In that way, "Guests" would at least see why the thread had disappeared from the main Vintage section and not be

(Well, not be about that anyway. We can still be about lots of other things. )

Am I mistaken in that is how it was in the past when some threads had been moved to "Politics?

Thanks.

Mods have the option of moving a thread with notification or without. Perhaps with would have been better in this case.

Jim, I'm sure you have better things to do. It's really not a big deal.

Health care always veers off into politics. It's the nature of the beast.
