I was recently revisiting this thread. In the college portrait of you, Vito has captured a real essence, Deb., maybe in the eyes.

We commissioned this the last October. The artist sent me this picture of it today after she finished it. The glass is cobalt blue. The fish and turtle are 3 dimensional. The colors are achieved making and melting dichroic glass. The fish and turtles will change in color and dimensional perspective as you move around it. It's not a technique you see used very often on larger pieces.

We'll have an invisible frame made to hold it.[attachment=29983:fish and turtle s.jpeg]

It's around 24" wide. I forget the height. We measured it to sit in front of a specific window but the artist had some leeway in the size of the cobalt glass she picked. I may go get it tomorrow, it's at her studio in Islamorada.

It's a about a 2 and a half hour drive each way.
