Dave, is this acrylic paint? What do you mean when you say you over-painted it?
Yes I used acrylic for this one. Actually some is acrylic paint and is acrylic gouache. The latter was stuff left over from when Donna did sweatshirt painting. It's probably the same stuff but I don't really know for sure. I don't even know what gouache means. No training is my excuse.

I also have other mediums - oil, watercolor, and designers gouache.

As for the over-painting remark, I was referring to the fact I continued to paint or re-work areas that actually should have been left alone as they were done better the first time. It's the old story of not being satisfied and making it worse.

Since I like this subject I plan to paint it again tomorrow. I've sketched it out again but I know I am too tired to try painting it tonight (a little hang over from last night visiting some friends).

Pat, I love the quality of light in your landscapes.
Thank you. I think I pick photos to paint, that either have water or are shadows and light. I always wanted to get depth into my paintings.

Looks good, Dave! I did take pics of the +1's Van Gogh which I will post tonight, I hope. He doesn't want me to post a pic of the horse until it's finished.
