Default A bad day at work?

We all have bad days at the office or wherever we work. Sometimes we may wonder how we will continue to wake up each morning and do what we do for "X" number of years.

While some of us like our jobs, some of us tolerate the jobs and are too tired or lack motiviation to move on, or maybe we are just counting the days until we can bail.

If I'm having a bad day, I try to just think "happy thoughts",
check in here for some humor, and check the calender to see when I have planned a day off.

Well that was me this AM. Yes, I do have a day off coming up. That's a good thing!

It may be a bad thing though when I realized that the planned day off is for a colonoscopy, and today that sounded better than working. Of course there will be drugs involved.

Is this TMI?

DAY?????! You lucky stiff, try WEEK! And there's no end in sight. However, since you're only looking at A day, I've got good news for you. Tomorrow will be better and today is almost over. Yipee! Cheer up, girlfriend. Sounds like you've got a date that will make this day seem peachy in retrospect. One day at a time.......

All true, Granny. This is usually an easy gig, so I should not complain.

A drive in the "S" would boost my spirts. Failing that, at lunch today I asked the person at Wendy's to put some rum in my Diet Coke. No luck there either.

Maybe I need to go shoe shopping?

And don't forget the impact that having your kitchen all torn up has on your nerves and mood. But you'll be fine. I'll check on you first thing in the morning, okay? I'm out and if it wasn't so cold and I wasn't trying to catch whatever this is that's going around, I'd drop the top on the way home since I'm driving the S to work this week. Hang my sista, hang! (and bolt for the door as soon as you can)

You're sweet Granny. Tomorrow is Friday, so that is always a morale booster.

The torn up kitchen has not been bad at all. The guy has been there when he said he would be, the job is progressing and so far so good. We've had ample space camped out in the living room. The "provisions" Rick had in the freezer have fed us well.

It will be nice when it's done.

That about summed it up. I wasn't the only one in the "bad day" category. Was there a full moon recently?

Well tomorrow is TGIF day, so things will be looking up.

Maybe you can cut out of work a lil early Fri and catch some of the St. Patricks day spirit.

Most days aren't great anymore. Last fall, we went with Meditech, a DOS like program that produces documents that look like the default in WordPerfect 5.1, that really is unsuited to its application for us. It's cumbersome, unweildy, and non-intuitive. The things we need to do most are hidden in submenus labeled with other titles. For example, we have to do an assesment of abilities on each of our clients. Once the program is open, it takes no less no less than 12 steps plus the information get this done. To print it, or even see the results, we have to back out to the fornt page, choose a box titled "Print ISP" (see what I mean about non-intuitive) and then take another 8-10 steps to get to view it and two more to print it and a couple more to close it. One of the reasons the state bought this was that it would provide specific reports for upper management. Turns out, it can't produce them and we have to keep the previous software as well as this one!

I'm from the state; I'm here to help.
